We’re a small, dedicated team that thrives on collaboration, creativity, and mutual support. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an Assistant Manager to help guide the day-to-day running of the store and support the wider team.

About the Role
As Assistant Manager, you’ll play a key part in the store’s success - supporting the Store Manager in all aspects of operations, leading by example on the shop floor, and ensuring every customer receives the highest level of service. You’ll balance sales performance with people management, visual merchandising, and operational duties.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver and uphold the Peggs & son standard of expert, personable customer service.
- Lead by example on the shop floor, motivating and supporting the team to achieve sales targets.
- Assist with day-to-day store operations, including opening/closing procedures, stock management, and cash handling.
- Support and develop sales advisors through on-the-job training and coaching.
- Work closely with the Store Manager on scheduling, performance reviews, and recruitment.
- Help maintain the visual and operational standards of the store.
- Contribute to content creation and in-store events alongside the marketing team.
- Be comfortable in front of the camera — all in-store staff are regularly featured in our social media and online content.
- Handle customer queries and issues with professionalism and care.
- Act as a keyholder and take responsibility for the store in the manager’s absence.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous retail management or supervisory experience, ideally within premium or independent menswear.
- Strong leadership and communication skills - someone who inspires confidence and trust.
- A genuine passion for clothing, craftsmanship, and contemporary style.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence in handling operations such as POS, stock systems, and scheduling.
- Comfortable being part of brand storytelling through photography and content.
- A calm, proactive attitude with the ability to problem-solve under pressure.
- A collaborative approach — we value teamwork over hierarchy.
